The Role

The opportunity to be part of the foundation of this brand-new practice and contribute to its growth and development will be rewarding for several reasons:

Professional Growth: You will have the chance to shape the direction of a veterinary practice from the ground up. Your contributions will directly impact its success, allowing you to gain valuable experience and skills.

Personal Fulfilment: Being at the inception of something new and impactful can be personally fulfilling.
You'll see the direct results of your efforts and know that you played a pivotal role in building it.

Sense of Ownership: Working from the beginning means you have a stake in the business's success. You'll likely feel a sense of ownership and pride in what you've helped create, which can be deeply satisfying.

Making a Difference: By contributing to a business that prioritises people, client relationships, and pet care, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you're making a positive impact on the veterinary profession and the lives of both pets and their owners.

Responsibilities as Clinical Director

Embodying Company Values: Being a Clinical Director involves leading by example in terms of providing exceptional client and pet care. You embody the values of the business and demonstrate them in everything you do.

Creating a Supportive Atmosphere: As a leader, you are there to create and nurture an atmosphere or support, happiness, fulfilment, encouragement, and fairness.

Being the Face of the Practice: Being a new practice, you and your founding team members will become the face of this new practice, and focus on building the vet-client trust, and forming an excellent reputation in the local community. You will lead and inspire the team to work collaboratively to shape the future of this new practice.

Developing Your Leadership Skills

If you have not held a leadership position before, that's perfectly okay. As long as you possess a leadership mindset - one characterised by self-awareness, accountability, responsibility, a commitment to growth, and a willingness to learn - you can develop your leadership skills within the practice as both the practice and your team expand.

Support and Training

Rest assured, you will receive support in areas where you may lack experience, such as the financial aspects of running a business, including profit and loss management. Furthermore, they are dedicated to providing continuous leadership training and opportunities to acquire qualifications through the Institute of Leadership and Management.

A Supportive Network

You will become part of a close-knit and friendly network of Clinical Directors, all on a similar journey of growth, whether they have prior leadership experience or not. Leadership is a profound personal growth journey, and you'll be supported every step of the way.

Work Life Harmony

This is a full time role, working four days a week, sharing the Saturday morning rota with your vet colleague, which will decrease in frequency as your team continues to expand. Other practices have hired a third vet within 12 months.

The Practice

Are you ready to make a values-led career decision and work for an employer that genuinely, consistently, and passionately takes care of their people?

Employee Wellbeing and Job Satisfaction

This is an employer that...
• takes engagement, wellbeing and job satisfaction of its team to a whole new level; the level it should be in the industry.
• puts a metaphorical arm around team members, offering support during times of need, going the extra mile to help with personal challenges.
• is the heart of the business, investing time in caring for and nurturing teams, knowing team members' full names, their children's names, their pets' names – truly invested in their lives.

Client Centric Approach

What we feel truly sets this practice apart is their commitment to bridging the gap that has grown over the years between clients and vets. They bring the client and their pets back to the forefront of their focus with a fear-free approach, and offering unlimited consultations to eliminate any barriers to clients seeing care for their pets. The practice is designed with the client experience in mind, featuring a unique reception setup where the team and clients can have open interaction. Additionally, the owner is dedicated to keep their prices reasonable, unlike other veterinary practices that increase fees just because they can. Their aim is to make quality pet care accessible without compromising on service quality.

Proven Culture of Care

Though new to the market with this venture, this small group of practices is owned by people with a proven track record of creating an incredible culture based on people engagement, wellbeing, and job satisfaction. The driving force of this business is to create a family practice, something everyone is proud of, successful, and that can be passed down through the owner's family for years to come.

Actions Speak Louder

While terms like "people engagement", "wellbeing", and "job satisfaction" are often used as buzzwords in the industry, here, they take on a whole new dimension. It's not just about the words; it's the actions and the heart behind them. It's in the every day moments when they step up without hesitation to support their people. It's in the genuine care and assistance provided to team members, not only in their professional roles but in their personal lives as well.

These meaningful efforts, often behind the scenes, are what define the employer's commitment to the wellbeing and satisfaction of their team. While they may be challenging to fully capture in an online advert, they are a powerful driving force behind this workplace.

Working for this veterinary group, you'll see the ethos of "people first" everywhere. They believe that when you look after your people, they will look after you - whether you're an employee or a client. You'll be looked after to the nth degree and enjoy a unique relationship with your employer based on deep mutual trust and respect.

Looking Ahead

This is an opportunity to be a part of the foundation of this brand-new business, set to grow up to 50 practices over the next 10 years. Being there from the beginning, being the face of this new brand, and playing a key role in its growth and development will provide immense professional and personal satisfaction and reward.
